I noticed that you can see the brush strokes with the product that you might not get with separate glittering. Overall though, it appears to be a great product, and you can monitor your brush strokes for lines anyway.

Pretty cool. I use regular mod podge on my shoes and pour glitter over it, about 3 coats and the effect is still very good
