I took a trip to Australia in August. It was too costly, risky, and cumbersome to bring all my gear, so I rented a Canon 5D Mark II. I wanted to play with one of these anyway... see if it'd work for a B camera.
Pretty decent results. Fast zooms don't really work with the sensor and focus wasn't easy. And having a tripod with a ball-head and pistol grip restricts any chance of smooth pans and tilts. The 5D takes great pics, but it's just not yet a pro video solution... maybe the Mark III will be closer to the mark.
