Golden West Airlines lives again!!

Golden West Airlines lives again in this 1/72 scale model. Golden West Airlines a California Commuter airlines shuttled passenges from LAX to smaller markets in the 60's and 70's. This DHC-6 Twin otter is a replica of the livery from the early to mid 70's flying to Oxnard,Santa Barbara, Monterey Palm Springs and Catalina Island CA. Fares ranged from $8 to 23.00 dollars one way. Sadly the Airlines went bankrupt in 1984 and the assest sold off. A great commuter airline!

Excellent job on the Otter, especially the custom paint job. My Mom created the GWA livery in 1968 right after GWA moved to Long Beach Airport. My Dad founded Golden West for Architect Bill Perreira, and was its first President until 1972. This video brings back great memories. Keep up the great work.

i took the revelle DHC-6 twin otter kit and custom painted the Golden West livery from photos...came out really cool

Great job on the Twotter! Such a cool little SoCal airline! I can remember the new-livery Dash 7's at LAX T3 as a kid!
