Raphael Lemkin born on June 24, 1900 was a Polish lawyer of Jewish descent. Before World War II, Lemkin studied the Armenian Genocide in depth and campaigned in the League of Nations to ban what he called "barbarity" and "vandalism". He is best known for his work against genocide, a word he coined in 1943 from the root words genos (Greek for family, tribe or race) and -cide (Latin for killing). He first used the word in print in Axis Rule in Occupied Europe: Laws of Occupation - Analysis of Government - Proposals for Redress (1944).

Lemkin was born Rafał Lemkin in the village of Bezwodne in Imperial Russia, now the Vawkavysk district of Belarus. Not much is known of Lemkin's early life. He grew up in a Jewish family and was one of three children born to Joseph and Bella (Pomerantz) Lemkin. His father was a farmer and his mother a highly intellectual woman who was a painter, linguist, and philosophy student with a large collection of books on literature and history. With his mother as an influence, Lemkin mastered ten languages by the age of 14, including French, Spanish, Hebrew, Yiddish, and Russian.

  • It's time Turkey looked itself in the mirror and accepted its ugly genocidal past! This is the only way!

  • The word genocide was invented because of the Armenian Genocide. Good job putting this on the net for Turks to see. There is only one truth.

  • @amigahome Before talking shit, go read the history, and who you are first.

  • @amigahome No wonder why Armenia is fucked up! Its because there are many like you.

  • @anarmehtievful No need to thank me for the small history lesson.

Now you should know history about Armenia, Azerbaijan and why you look uniformed when you post false history.

  • @anarmehtievful Continued.

Caucasian Albania's ruler, King Urnayr, officially adopted Christianity as the state religion in the 4th century CE, and Albania would remain a Christian state until the 8th century. Sassanid control ended with their defeat by Muslim Arabs in 642 CE.

  • @anarmehtievful Continued.

The Achaemenids in turn were defeated by Alexander the Great in 330 BCE. Following the decline of the Seleucids in Persia in 247 BCE, an Armenian Kingdom exercised control over parts of modern Azerbaijan between 190 BCE to 428 CE. Caucasian Albanians established a kingdom in the 1st century BCE and largely remained independent until the Sassanids made the kingdom a province in 252 CE.

  • @anarmehtievful You seem to be insisting on showing your ignorance of history.

Caucasian Albanians are believed to be the earliest inhabitants of Azerbaijan. Early invaders included the Scythians in the 9th century BCE. The South Caucasus was eventually conquered by the Achaemenids around 550 BCE. During this period, Zoroastrianism spread in Azerbaijan. - To be continued.

  • @anarmehtievful Yes mostly empty. Some Turk/Mongoloids settled there as a result of the mongols conquering almost all of the region. You seem to be history and common sense impaired.

    Here let me help again.

  • @anarmehtievful "Turkic Eravan Principality"?

Dude, I don't know if you are stupid or just uninformed. Armenia was occupied by Turks. The populations was there for centuries, as it was one of the oldest civilizations in history. Where are you learning this bullshit from? "rmenia was created as a buffer zone"? More bullshit. Go get a clue buddy. Here, let me help.

  • @anarmehtievful So you admit that Azerbaijan was founded in 1918 so your claim that Armenians killed Azerbaijanis 12 years before it existed Is bullshit, and there is not a single credible history source corroborating your false history. In fact small population of Turkish origin existed in the socalled Azerbaijan at that time. The Khojaly socalled massacre was NOT supported by Armenians, get your facts straight. Their president at that time admitted that it was a staged scene.

  • @amigahome The Turkic existence in Azerbaijan dates back to 400 AD. The first Turkic soverign state/Empire in Azerbaijan was the Khazar, which ruled Armenia as well. The Caspian Sea is also called the Khazar Sea. The Kahzars fought the Arab Umayyad Empire defending Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia for 200 years. Please read about the Arab-Khazar Wars, which Armenia was part of it.
