I can remember it so well. I watched the TV show: Ozzie and Harriet. I went to a Bob Dylan concert at Phila.'s Vet. Stadium with my wife and Dylan announced that Dennis Hopper was there with him in the audience and the 1st song was dedicated to Ricky Nelson & his band. Fabulous!

@bobloren I love it, too. Briefly tried a steel guitar in my band, but the player couldn't get out of his "strictly country" mindset. Tom Brumley, Rick's guy, was a musical genius!

Rick Nelson was a very talented guy. How many more got typecast as teen idols? Did anyone else notice that Wolfman Jack was hardly shown in the Best of the Midnight Special DVDs infomercial? Was it necessary for the producer to put his own name up front?

Wolfman Jack~ Wow~

Why do so many of the midnight specials have audio that sounds like its coming from the bottom of a bucket.

This song has a good point. Ya can't please everyone so ya got to please yourself!!!!

I love the instrument called the steel guitar. This song proves it doesn't have to be a twangy country song (which I love), to make it work.
Wonderful clip; thanks so much!

@omarskats3000 Yes, Wolfman Jack hosted The Midnight Special. Back in the 70s The Midnight Special was almost the only way you could see a band you liked, other than going to a concert.
