MacBook Pro 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB. I added a Wintec Filemate SolidGo Express card (48GB) to enhance some speed improvements, definitely works! See the test

  • Just wondering if this test was done n a clean install. I am going to buy the Wintec Filemate 48 GB pretty quickly. They have them down to about $150, the major advantage on that is that you don't have to remove your optical drive to put in a data-doubler to get the great speed of an SSD.

Also, have you seen any difference in your battery life? I have heard arguing reports that SSDs will affect or not affect battery life (where-as a 7200 rpm HD will drain a battery faster than a 5400 rpm)

  • @SteveDurnin yep, no problem.......good luck!

  • OK. Sounds pretty fair. Thanks.

I might get the 96GB SSD card. Can I install straight onto the SSD from the install DVD?

  • @SteveDurnin ok i see what you're getting at. Let me nuance it a bit....the old copy was about 1-2 months on there, so still fairly new.

  • So is it fair to compare them?
