On another note, as a clinical psychologist, what advice would you give to the friends and family members of a person who is in an abusive relationship? Especially on both sides. They are both very young, and if Chris is repeating the cycle of violence that he was exposed to as a child, do you think it is possible for him to break free of that? Shouldn't we not judge them and allow them to get counseling or should they split?

I don't usually give my professional opinion on here because this is entertainment and the two don't really mix but I will for you. The family and friends right now just need to be ears and support. NO ADVICE no matter how hard it is. You cannot convince 2 people of their age and maturity that they don't need to be together. anyone who's civilized knows that violence in a relationship is unnecessary and most importantly ruins respect. it doesn't make you feel bigger, it makes you feel weak knowing the fact that you did something your partner won't ever do to you coz they love you enough not to hurt you like that.
