Mac OS X Leopard does not require the user to authenticate when starting the computer by default. This video shows how to disable the auto login feature so that a username and password is required.
Also it shows how to lock the screen using hot corners and enabling a password to be used to unlock the screen.

  • How do u disable the login screen that comes up after a restart?

  • @MetaKhan22 In the video where the checkbox Disable Automatic Login is checked, if you uncheck that it would get rid of the login screen after a restart, but if anyone then wanted to get into your computer, all they would have to do is force the computer to power off and on.

  • what mac do u use?

  • @macluvr6 At the moment I have a Macbook unibody 13" and a Mac Mini. I am planning on a 27" iMac or possibly a larger Macbook Pro in a while. What Mac do you use ?

  • Just what I needed. :)
