Have you been frustrated in the past by math programs for your homeschooler? Did you know most math programs -- even the ones sold to homeschoolers- were actually written for the public or private school environment. Even though there are over 2 million homeschool students in the United States, textbook publishers still wanted to grab the largest share of the market, which is obviously public and private schools.

Textbooks written for public and private school students are really not homeschool friendly at all. Did you ever notice how these texts have almost no explanations for the problems? They are designed to be used by teachers as tools for teaching, but they do not provide the actual teaching. The teacher would be doing that in the classroom.

However, most homeschool moms are extremely busy and may not have the time to give a 45 minute lecture about the math lesson every day. They would like their students to learn more independently. This is where Teaching Textbooks stands heads and shoulders above any other math program available for homeschoolers today.

Teaching Textbooks helps your student learn more independently. As your student is beginning to take more responsibility for his/her own education, this program can help with the process of independent learning.

Teaching Textbooks provides much more explanatory teaching than a regular textbook and it is written directly to the student in an easy to understand, conversational style. Every Teaching Textbook program comes with about 120 hours of instruction for your student. This includes the daily lectures and also a step by step explanation for EVERY problem in the book! It's like having the textbook and the teacher all in one package!

The technology that is available to computer users of this math program today, allows for the automated grading. This feature alone for our family is worth the cost of the course. The student types the answer into the computer and is given immediate feedback as to whether their answer is correct or incorrect. They get two attempts at each problem. If they still do not get it right, the student can go right to the solution area where the problem is then explained in detail.

There is also reference numbers for every problem so the parent and the student can see where that type of problem was first introduced. What a time saver!

If your student prefers working with a textbook, he/she can just listen to the lecture or read it in the textbook and work the problems from there.

Your student will cover the following basic algebra concepts for Algebra 1:

• Writing an Equation for a Line
• Combining Rational Expressions with Several Variables
• Solving a Rational Equation
• Solving a System of Linear Equations
• Solving a Word Problem Using a System
• Finding the Slope and y-intercept in a Linear Equation
• Solving a Multivariable Equation with Two Variables
• Solving a Multivariable Equation with Three Variables
• Solving a System of Equations by Graphing
• Simplifying Irrational Number Expressions
