Video about the permaculture swales we constructed at the inn to retain water for water conservation. Talk about why we built the swales and how they were made. Also update on what we have planted in the garden.

  • If you have a steep site the swales need to be closer together. We hate to cut down trees so we would not cut down the trees. Not sure about cedars being water leaches.

  • Thank you for posting this...I am planning on building a swale for my front yard. I have been wondering how to deal with the severe slope in the yard. This is almost identicle to the lay of my yard. I have a question, though. my front yard has several cedar/juniper trees around it and I hear that they are very big water leeches. I was thinking of removing these to relieve some of the stress on the black walnuts and oaks that share the space. I would love to hear what you have to say. Thanks.
