As the summer heat cranks up in the beautiful Sun Valley resort, so does the tension between 'wolf lovers' and 'wolf haters', with Idaho's first legal wolf hunting season quickly approaching in the fall. The Phantom Wolves of Sun Valley documents the war over wolves that's taking place in the West, the result of a successful reintroduction of the species into the same area in which they were eradicated nearly a century ago. Made with the insider perspective of DeSiree' Fawn, a fifth generation native to the Sun Valley, Idaho area and NYC based filmmaker who is determined to understand the conflict over wolves and the culture war it represents.

  • No doubt this was done by people who have no stake in the game. There are 10s of thousands of them in Canada and Alaska. We made a terrible mistake bringing them here.

  • @bucksmasher1 Don't bother with facts. Sun Valley folks are entitled and elite. They believe we, the rural idiots, should have to go. They are wildlife advocates and though they don't mind having 12K sq. ft. homes and living smack in the middle of wildland perfect for wolves, they are better cause they just buy their food and never kill for it. Then, of course, they come to our wilderness to commune with nature, driving their gas guzzlers here where we build small and work for a living.

  • By the way, I was duped into being a wolf advocate though I fought re-introduction as I had seen native wolves. After almost being killed by them, I realized, after studying statistics - quantified and qualified - there isn't room, with 7 billion people, to save every species. So who should go? I still think wolves are beautiful but so are rats, dogs, humans, chimps, (that none of you mind being used in labs), and you Greenies never answer the real questions so this film is just Disneyfied!

  • 30,000 wolves live in canada. They are not and never have been an endangered species. Any one who calls them an endandered species is full of shit.

  • @HSFootballMoms What are you talking about? Control? Is there anything positive in the wolf issue? Nope! It can't have a positive face, especially with you wolf cult members screaming all the time. Have a nice day :D

  • @HSFootballMoms You are obviously a mom. Didn't you think that by having children you would be part of the 7 BILLION human problem? How do you expect to save every single species without a give? That woman who got killed in Alaska by a wolf? I guess that's her fault for jogging in Wolf land. When one of you gets killed jogging here in Stanley, we will bow our heads and pray for that persons soul. When a rancher's cow is torn apart alive, you folks laugh! Now, who is evil?

  • @auroraphobe Oh, so if you believe in the devil, you obviously believe in God? Gee, bible says animals were created for us humans. If you are an atheist, you must believe in the evolutionary process of man from ape. We then are very much a part of nature. If you believe in neither, you must think man to be an alien species? In that case, it's time for us to go home. Give us directions and, how many kids do you have taking up all the beautiful species's habitat?

  • @NativePrairieWolf Don't forget to not have leather shoes, car seats and yes, support more oil products that include any farm products. Don't drive any car as you then support mining, don't have homes bigger than 500 sq. feet and don't live in wilderness areas like Sun Valley as that is great wolf habitat. You are like so many who have no idea of ALL man's impact on the earth. How many kids mom?

  • @HSFootballMoms Well... at least you have left yourself open for a lawsuit.

  • I would first ask, who funded this? Then I would question the filmmaker if she had someone constantly attacking her business, what she would do? In a world of 7 billion people, something will have to give. The earth doesn't grow. Humanity is exploding and there is a question all will have to answer. Are we to be exterminated to save all species? Should we be boxed into cities to make room for the second best predator on earth? What is your solution? Man or beast or just you greenies?
