Adam Levy: 'No Dancing'

I'm working on a new solo-acoustic recording, and have been writing lots of new material for it. "No Dancing" is one I'm hoping to include. The song was inspired by a "No Dancing" sign I saw posted at Banjo Jim's earlier this year, after they'd had a neighbor complain of unlicensed dancing there. (Bars and nightclubs in New York City cannot have dancing unless they get a Cabaret license http://www.nyc.gov/html/dca/html/licenses/073.shtml.) The notion of requiring a special license so that people can shake their bodies -- in a bar, with live music -- seems absurd to me, so I wrote this song about an imaginary day when all dancing was outlawed.
