  • Great manual dexterity, but how musical is it? Lots of notes, but would you regard that as a "musical" performance worth re-listening to? This kind of playing, currently in vogue in Trinidad, is subverting the pan's potential. Every pannist thinks he will now impress by playing fast and furiously, hitting notes and random. That's not music, fella. It's terrible to listen to!

  • @pomsetay

WTF do you know about music... hitting notes at random?? Foster is not only a pannist, but an all around musician, arranger and composer. You're the one not worth listening to. Keep your stupid comments to yourself.

  • @selectablight

Can you PROVE it is stupid? Since you are unable to distinguish a criticism from a stupidity, is it correct to assume that you wallow in stupidity?

  • @pomsetay would love to hear u play something and stop all the blabbing

  • You wouldn't like my music. I am not impressed with what passes as pan music in T*T. It's a lot of noise mostly, with pannists running up and down the chromatic scale and imagining that they are making music. They need to go abroad and listen to different styles of music, and incorporate new rhythms to re-invigorate Soca and pan music. Basically, most Trinis don't really understand what music is about. They're stuck on Soca and Machel.

  • Listen to the artistry of African musicians, their scintillating guitar rhythms, their drums, and learn what music is about. I repeat the kind of pan Trinis are impressed with is unlikely to propel these guys to international music fame. It's so boring!

  • But what on earth is he PLAYINg? Is that musical? Can that be remembered with pleasure? Frankly, it's a lot of crap! It's time these so-called pannists learn to play memorable rhythms or memorable melodies. Who would want to spend good money on unmusical "music"! Get real, pannists!

  • I have a copy of his CD and I listen to it over and over and over and over again. I know for a fact he is NOT hitting notes at random. Yes it is fast, but that is how he chooses to play for that song, at that time, in that moment. I respect any musician who does music the way he or she wants to do it. If you don't like it, don't listen, but do not come on youtube and disrespect this man's music. Maybe you should get a copy of the CD before you comment.

  • He is AMAZING! I actually met him the other day. :-) He is nice and really knows what he's doing. He's gonna be playing with my school's jazz band and the choirs at our concert the 26th. And we got Kevin Mahogany coming too! :D
