DONT GET EVEN

19Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord.

There are few Christians, if any, who have not been abused or mistreated.

Satan certainly goes about trying to defeat us at every turn. We are familiar with his unjust accusations and outright persecution.

We could certainly feel that his attacks warrant retribution. They do! But, we are incapable of dispensing righteous judgment against those that hurt us.

Strangely, those who are most often used by the enemy are Christians, friends or family. We are more vulnerable to those that we love and trust.

Most of us expect to be maligned by those who hate Christianity. Our very presence convicts them of their sin and rebellion. We are not surprised at their attack.

Revenge is a very natural emotion of our carnal flesh. We want to get even with those who have hurt us. Let them feel the anguish and pain they have caused us, we cry. They deserve what they get.

Dont do it! Sometimes people dont realize theyve hurt us. Others are innocent victims of Satan. Then, there are those who delight in all of the misery they can bring upon us.

Only God knows. He is the only one who really sees their intent and motivation.

Vengeance is mine, the Lord declares. His judgment is perfect. His punishment is absolute. He always defends his children. Refuse to be bitter or vengeful. You can trust him to dispense perfect retribution.

Prayer:

My Loving Heavenly Father, I know you understand my pain. I have been deeply wounded. I know that you are my justification and righteousness. Avenge me, I pray. Let your perfect judgment fall upon my enemies. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

this is why i am an athiest, because christianity has such hypocritical followers/leaders, and the leaders try to brainwash everyone into mindless robots, yet they wonder why noone likes them.
