This is an application, a fraction related to "Tom the shepherd"
I wish there would be a film maker that will take this marvelous story as a subject for a movie or better, a TV series.

  • I agree with you that the books are great. I hope that no filmmaker ever attempts to make films out of them though, because that would turn out a disaster. Just think of the skill and the wit...

  • Yes there is something in your words in one hand, it will ruin the "film" that I see while reading. In the other, what about LOTR? Wasn't that great? I think that I have a problem of addiction, I am reading the books six's time now, in a period of two years only.

  • When I read AQ the first time I started reading at 7pm and I read through the whole night because I lost track of time.

  • OK EVERYONE LISTEN UP! we are not comparing LOTR with The Farseer Trilogy here. I read LOTR and then went to the cinema.... And you can NOT put into pictures, what I imagined while reading those books. ...And as I consider The Farseer Trilogy as defiantly better: I wish for everyone to read the books and not to "just" see the movie wich would not be comparable to Robin Hob's descriptions in any way!!!

  • @Exactemento I don't think the skill and wit would be a problem. Afterall, Jedi's already use the force on film and no one seems to have a hard time understanding. :p

  • Even if the movie turns out to be bad, at least they're there right? What if they turn out good? The movie should be made. If it's good than that's great, if it's bad then just forget it was even made.

  • I think a TV series would cover the stories better than a movie would. One done in a similar grain as the Princess Bride (not satirical of course, but similar in film style) would address it well I think.

A lot of Fitz's mental turmoil would end up being downplayed, simply because you can't visualize thought on screen the way you can on paper. But the rest would do well I think.

  • A film is something that everyone anticipates when reading such a good book...But it is simply not possible...There is so much depth and description to detail that Hobb goes into when telling her tales that not even the finest director of our time could handle such a monumental storyline! Everyone has their own movie inside their head through their own eyes and imagination. Lets leave it be and not ruin it like they did with Philip Pullman's Northern Lights and so many others.

  • I've Read The Farseer And Tawny Man Trilogies 3 Times, I received The Books Last Christmas :D

  • i have to agree though i desperatly would love a movie... we all have our own ideas of waat each caracter would look and sound like and the director could not please everyone
