  • Thanks for this very informative video. Regarding buying Boca burgers, however: just to be the Devil's advocate, I don't see anything wrong with buying veggie burgers from a meat company. After all, grocery stores sell meat too so every time you get groceries, you are also supporting a company that sells meat.

  • @mokkshaa true, but there are other brands that make veggie burgers that aren't owned by meat companies like gardein....lets support ethical companies when we can. Also, I believe in eating whole foods and making your own food just so you can control what you are eating, plus its better for your health...but of course that's a choice everyone has to make for themselves. every little bit we can do to fight large, faceless corporations the better.

  • Great video! I'm trying to get away from the pre packaged stuff just a bit more and eat more fresh fruits and veggies. Sometimes I'm just in a hurry and like to eat something fast so I can get back to what I was doing before so I admit I'm guility of supporting Boca and Morning Star products. I only eat a few Morning Star items though now since some of their stuff contains dairy but I need more fruits and veggies.

  • @MrZombieIsHungry That's great to hear you want to get away from the prepackaged stuff. I find if you cook things up ahead of time (like beans) you can throw together super quick, and healthy meals. Also, salads are the ultimate quick and healthy meal to throw together. I love to add fruit for natural sweetness. I don't need as much salad dressing that way either. You should make your own seitan...its a cheap, vegan fake meat I make when I get cravings for those products.

  • I was a junk food vegetarian for years, now I'm eating as close to raw as I can. Don't eat the soy products and I would avoid wheat products as well. Gluten is not good for anyone. I'm not concerned with saving money anymore. One night on the hospital ~ $2,000. I'd rather put that money into good quality foods that taste good and are healthy. I only eat dry beans that are edible raw; lentils, garbanzos, split peas, etc. Avoid kidneys, pintos, white and black beans. EAT MORE FRUIT!!!!!!

  • @1imesub I think people who can go raw vegan are amazing...I'm not quite at that point in my life. I'm cooking for my husband as well as for myself. But I do like to limit my gluten, soy, and I don't eat that many kidney/pinto/black/white beans. I mostly eat chickpeas and lentils, yum! I've been eating a lot more fruit lately, it makes me feel wonderful and satisfied. I always crave pineapple and raspberries!

  • I wish food was cheaper here. I live in Canada and everything is much more expensive. I've been to the States and many material products as well as produce is at least a good three dollars cheaper in most cases.

Also, this video was posted on my birthday. :)

  • my mom and i talk about that all the time. About the fact that you pay more for healthy food , but you pay less for healthcare.

thats pretty cool you and your husband are artists.

My husband and I are both artists as well.

Very cool to see quality people in the world.

    Very cool video.

  • @veggiebeauty Another thing many people don't think about is the effects processed foods have on your teeth. Back when I ate a lot of veggie burgers, soy milk, wheat bread, noodles, bagels, clif bars and vegan desserts, it seemed like I had cavities nearly every time I went to the dentist. Since eating ~85% raw, I haven't had any. Ripe bananas are a great source of nourishment and are relatively cheap. You can also freeze them and make smoothies which is also both affordable and nutritious.

  • @DaffQuack great idea! I will add that to my video list:) I make them frequently and it is super easy, especially if you get a crockpot (which I highly recommend). I will explain how do it the old school, boiling in a pot and the crockpot method. Keep an eye out for when I post it!
