AeroVironment RQ-11B Raven B small unamanned air vehicle (UAV) performing a flight demonstration in controlled airspace in Brisbane, Australia when it gets attacked by crows.
Crows are very intelligent. Apparently more so than their tormentors behind the camera. They will attack birds of prey more that twice their own size, such as Hawks , etc. When their young are threatened, the entire flock will fly to protect the nests. I have watched Crows fly
in, from all directions, when they hear a fledglings cry. If you want to keep Hawks away from your small pets, it would behove you to feed the Crows. They like Dog food. I feed ours Kibbles & Bits.
I was watching a few ravens doing their arial acrobatics at Tala Dam in Scotland when one of them veered off suddenly. I followed it with my binoculars and it started to attack a big buzzard. Eventually two of them were dive bombing the buzzard (which looked totally freaked out) until it landed in a heap on the side of the hill. The buzzard preened itself on the ground and the ravens instantly returned to their "air show"
only person on here with a keen perspective.
