Problems with bead filter: 1) channeling due to media clogging or caking, 2) Ammonia spike after backwash, and loss of beneficial bacteria (bio film) due to smooth surface of bead, 3) rapid flow reduction due to media clogging resulting in frequent backwash. 4) wasting water and electric.

Xtreme Bio Filter benefits: 1) no channeling, no caking, with tubular type media, 2) no Ammonia spike, no loss of beneficial bacteria (bio film) after backwash because media design has ridges on outer surface and free standing fins on the inner wall protect beneficial bacteria (bio film) 3) with 870 sq.feet of surface area per cubic foot of Xtreme Bio Media, it's double the amount of surface area as compared to that of bead, 4) backwash once a month, 5) save energies, money & time.

Refit kits for sand and bead filters are available. For further information, visit our web site at www.seagatefilters.com
