  • Many thanks! I would actually play a bit more detached myself. But, as you can tell from the rests, it's quite a dead room. Playing overly detached here always just sounds like circus music...

    Oh those heavenly Cantabiles!!!

  • In my own opinion going so fast at the beginning kills the Romantic qualities that I think Franck intended for the music and the held suspended chords are supposed to be mysterious in my own opinion, brushing over them makes them less so. For me personally, the tempo distorts the deep rooted passion and soulfulness I think is a deep part of this piece. You took the fiery passion approach however I think it is more of an ethereal passion of mystery Franck wanted for this piece.

  • great job, but the first time is sound like you would running away from something very terrible :-)

  • I like how you play the semiquavers from the start like they are written. Franck was a virtuose. Many people forget that when playing this piece. Perhaps you could play it slightly less attached to take the acoustics into account. Also personally I would play the chords after those virtuose bits at the start 'con molto fuoco'- almost like a glissando. But other than that- I really admire your performance.

Oh, and those heavenly Cantabilé's in between.. *sigh* =)
