Does Romans 10:13 prove that Jesus is God? Yeah, it kinda does!

@clintjordan Thus, he cherry picked his way through the subject fully acknowledging that Christ was fully 100% man, but argued that morphe didn't mean nature when it came to his Deity. Typical two story two stepping arian nonsense.
-
@clintjordan Correct. Arians don't have a problem believing that Christ was fully 100% man. "μορφην δουλου" or "form/nature of a servant" But ignore the fact that the very same word morphe is being used in the same chapter of him also being 100% God by nature. They focus in on one phrase, and ignore the other.

@pretoshohmoofc So while the word "morphe" alone does not mean Christ possessed the nature of God, the collective phrase, "morphe Theou" does.
-
@pretoshohmoofc It is in this particular passage that because "Theou" is anarthrous that the expression “morphe Theou,” as pointed out by several lexical sources (BDAG, Vine’s), carries the meaning, "the outward display of the inward reality," or "the outward display of true Deity." Thus the NIV translates, “Who, being in very nature God”
-
@pretoshohmoofc So "morphe Theou" is understood to mean that Christ possessed true Deity, or in a more literal sense, that He possessed the very nature/essence of God.
-
@pretoshohmoofc The term "morphe" by itself doesn't mean "nature," it simply means the "outward appearance." However, “Theou” ("in the form of God") is anarthrous, meaning it lacks the definite article (i.e., “morphe TOU Theou”). The collective phrase "morphe Theou" carries with it a qualitative force, similar to that of John 1:1c, thus referring to the very nature or essence of God.

@HeroOfChristArchives Then I think it's safe to say that at a "future date and time," "inconspicuously," and "unimpeded," you will be blocked again. Hey, that fit quite nicely.

@digger629 He's toast, digger. I tossed him out of here for being obnoxious and for mining quotes out of context.

Let me give you the best advice you will ever get. Stop believing & quoting what others say & believe about the Bible & start believing what the Bible Itself says.
There are thousands of "christian" cults in the world that all site various authorities for their beliefs. They can not all be right. The Bible says what It means & means what It says. It's authority comes straight from the throneroom of almighty God Himself.
What version of the Bible do you use?

@msm1876 Ya, I rolled my eyes at him when he was insisting the morphe didn't mean nature, and swatted every biblical scholar that was telling him different. When I asked him where he was getting his information from; which book he was using to supercede ALL OTHER scholars, he went silent on me. In other words, he HIMSELF was saying this, no one else. Well big deal. As far as i'm concerned, I just proved the deity of Christ to him. :-)
@msm1876
Seriously, Mikey, do you really think I'd care if you blocked me? Please, remove the suspense and just click the button already. I operate under various handles, and I will return at a future date and time, inconspicuously, unimpeded, unblocked.

@HeroOfChristArchives See, you're posting these quotes like the scholars are admitting that the ideas of Jesus being God, and the Holy Spirit being a person aren't scriptural. They're doing no such thing. They're simply saying that the developed, formulated concept of the trinity found in the Nicene and Athanasian creed isn't found in the bible.
