Set in the political snake-pit of Elizabethan England, Anonymous speculates on an issue that has for centuries intrigued academics and brilliant minds ranging from Mark Twain and Charles Dickens to Henry James and Sigmund Freud, namely: who was the author of the plays credited to William Shakespeare? Experts have debated, books have been written, and scholars have devoted their lives to protecting or debunking theories surrounding the authorship of the most renowned works in English literature. Anonymous poses one possible answer, focusing on a time when cloak-and-dagger political intrigue, illicit romances in the Royal Court, and the schemes of greedy nobles hungry for the power of the throne were exposed in the most unlikely of places: the London stage.

love that they decided to name the movie as the same name of a group that wants to kill the movie industrie. (not movies themselfs but the greedy bitches behind the produceing)

This movie did nothing to persuade me in its favor.
About half-way through, I was getting sick and tired of it all. The only arguement "Shakespeare is a fraud!" people have is that they don't think its possible for a man of his social rank to have written so many plays about court. In general, they do not feel writers can write about anything that is beyond their knowlege. I have one thing to say: STEPHEN CRANE.
Just because Shakespeare's parents were illiterate does not mean Will himself was.

@TylerDurden1901 You do know its not stupid there is a shakespearean qeustion just like homeric qeustion, it could be that shakespeare stole a lot of his so called work however we look at it from a modern perspective when plagarism is wrong however back then it was no looked negatively.
