At 11 weeks, Cooper, our German Shepherd puppy, is walking on the left side with 'Look' instead of 'Heel'. His ears are starting to stick up all the time now. As a GSD, we want him to experience as many new and fun things as possible: socialization.

  • pretty well trained for his age.. how did you teach him sit?

  • Teaching him to sit: at home, we slowly moved a treat up over his head. His natural posture was to put his butt down and lift his head higher. As soon as his butt hit the ground, we "clicked" it. Clicker training is a fast and positive way to mark a behavior you want your dog to repeat. We NEVER had to physically force him into a sit, so it is a positive thing he does all the time.
