Ok people!!!! I'm really weary of those who are opining that don't know shit about these boats or boating in general!!! Here are the FACTS!!!!

Barcardi Silver: 36' Skater powered by twin Sterling 1550hp engines mated to Mercury racing #6 outdrives. This is a SANCTIONED SBI event in Savannah Ga. The boat's speed is measured over a Kilometer, hence the "Kilo" reference in the sport. This pass averaged 202.907MPH!!!! No BS!!! No one else was on the river, no laws were broken and all safety precautions were taken as per SBI rules. David Scott was on the wheel and John Tomlinson was on the throttles. Both of these people I have met and talked to about this run. He was going 180 when he turned the wheel to line up the boat for the final sprint!!! If you're having trouble understanding the speed attained here, please see Dave's website at this link

http://www.nautiboats.com/Record%20Br... scroll to the 6th boat down.

Also you can go to this link:

I really didn't think this video would cause so much commotion about its actual speed. But, YES it is really going almost 203 mph and the Callan Racing Mystic topped 210 mph!!!! So there is a faster one out there, but the team now owns a Mystic as well, so we'll see. Take the time and Google these names/products and LEARN before you put down something ignorant in the 'Comment' column. I don't want to have to turn off 'Comments" but there's only so much I can take.

Enjoy the video!

  • Hey unsane what's this about the motors being V12s? Is that right?

  • @dieseldog00 Motors are V8's Based off a BB Chevy, they are built by Sterling Racing and make 1550hp each.

  • Man that thing sounds amazing. What kind of rpm do they run at 200mph?

  • I think those engines are peaking out at 6500rpm. Between that and the boost, a Sterling 1550 is probably only good for about 10-20 hours of life before they need a refresh.

  • Almost 203. Please see comments for all info.

  • This is one of the best!

  • @unsane I'll take 600lb 1450hp turbines and their 5000hr run times for the win Alex. :D

  • @unsane That's what I thought. I hear that Mike has the Torque Marine 860ci V12s though. Wonder when he's going to bring them out...

  • Engines sound like a mad bee ,I'd love to tube behind that !

  • Super awsome fast and sounds killer! Bet the Columbian rum runners would love to borrow this one!

  • @kdwormy .. Dude, do you even still exist? If you look at this again, you can see at 0:36 to 0:40 secs in the freighter before the bridge was passed in four seconds.. I'll admit that 170 mph on a supercycle is fast, but don't even compare to this pass. Just think, if they had 200 miles of open (smooth) water, and enough fuel, they'd do it in one hour... Totally exhilerating, er accelerating!

  • Part deux, just when you thot they maxxed rpm's, they kicked it up another notch or three, in total awe!! Tx
