Yeah, but there was never a band quite like The Outlaws. They
lost Billy Jones, they finally lost Hughie Thomasson, And more.
I have the first two, and they were not exquisite, YET those albums
and Hurry Sundown stood the test of time, at least in their time.
Billy Jones sang a kind of gospel tune, which was amazing in my
mind. Plus the band rocked Ohio. I saw them in Greenville, NC, and
they put Molly Hatchet to rest. Maybe my favorite Southern Rock
band.

@RossM3838 No argument that it's a top notch band. To me, they are an excellent Outlaws tribute band....but not the Outlaws.

@six2112 Hughie and Bill Jones were the driving force for sure but Henry gave the band its country music soul and distinctive sound. When he left the band was still great but something was missing and it slowly went downhill. Here we have Henry and Monte from the original Outlaws, Dave Anderson who was close to Hughie, and two from Blackhawk and Bill Crain from the Henry Paul Band. They may not be the Outlaws but they are genuine and really good.

I agree, I have seen this lineup as well. Henry on guitar and vocal along with Monte on drums are from the band's beginnings. Randy Threet on bass and Chris Anderson on guitar played with Hughie in his last version of the band. Add to that is Billy Crain an awesome guitarist that played with Henry in the Henry Paul Band. Great band.

The current line up of this band is tremendous! I've see them 3 times this year & I'm itching to see them more. If there are any doubters out there go see for yourself. They'll blast most bands off the stage if not all of them. Great guitar & great harmonies. I can't imagine any other line up would carry on the legend of The Outlaws the way these guys do. Their new Demo CD is real good too. The songs are forever singing through the breeze. Outlaws forever!
Cheers!

Amazing. Did any one ever hear the original version from the Louvin Brothers? Thats the song that Hughie, Billy, and Henry re arranged to get this version. It really is something the way they took that slow song, and fired it up to this ones speed, and style.

Their music IS timeless! Thanks to all of them for keeping it going. RIP Hughie!!!

Everyone knows that musicians come and go in bands and its very seldom that bands stay intact for very long. The important thing here is these guys are trying to keep the music going, thats what drives them in the first place. So lets not forget Hughie,Billy and Frank and just be glad The Outlaws are still making great music.

No there not the Southern Guitar Army anymore and NO band will ever be like the original Outlaws but good music is timeless.
I always thought HP had a good voice and am glad to see him amd Monte keeping the sound alive. Hughie and Billy were the best.
Sorry....I know I'll take crap for saying it but this is not the Outlaws.

Everyone is certainly entitled to an opinion, and I like to leave them on. In my opinion, The Outlaws were not the Outlaws the day Hank (et al) left to form HPB, yet they slogged on for another decade or two anyway :-)
I am more with the comments below who seem to think this is a nice tribute to Hughie.
He's gone man......time to move on.

I hear you dude....I just never thought of Henry as a driving force of the Outlaws. He wrote some good songs but I always felt Hughie was the talent in the band.
