@PhelanVelvel I agree, many people are misinformed and think that the "white" reproduce a lot less than the "coloured" races. p.s. the baiji is AWESOME!! too bad the vaquita is mirroring its fate. Peace

I've done a lot of reading on the baiji, just wrote a paper on the Yangtze, and journal articles are filled with Chinese researchers who want to save the Yangtze ecosystem and all of its inhabitants. Yes, China as a whole has ecological problems, but it's the same in many countries, sadly. At least China has some sort of limit on its reproductive growth, something I admire. U.S. people just want to say "I'MMA HAVE MY BABIES, TAKE YOUR COMMIE SHIT ELSEWHERE." Sophisticated...sure.

manufacturers and consumers which could be anyone.. not particularly Chinese as to how factories were built and invented it all contributes to humans.. don't be racist I'm not Chinese BTW please don't reply back if it's something stupid!

@Echostarwb Yep, it's all your fault, no-one elses. Kidding, Reading my comment back again, I had no right to make some of it regardless of where I thought the author was from. Though I still believe China has the opportunity to evolve itself well without killing off as much of its wildlife as we did to achieve the same level as us for the majority of their citizens.

@verticalsmurf My country? If you're referring to the U.S.? Then Yes.It's funny how you assume I'm Chinese just because of my response on this video.

Anyone hear about the possible sighting of about 20 yangtze river dolphins, not saying you should get your hopes up but it's still pretty cool.

poor baiji

@Echostarwb - That is a weak response. Yes we have caused extinctions. Your country was witness to our behaviour and our industrialisation. You had the chance to learn from our mistakes but you are continually blind to it. You fail to learn from our example at every opportunity. We killed the last Thylacine, and we give a damn. Your countrymen put melamine in baby formula. You continue with cheap dirty coal with a death toll instead of rising above. Don't blame us for your current situation.
Why are all of you so racist. The issue of extinction has nothing to do with Asians or Westerners or whatever. This issue has to be solved by mankind, and which nations are to blame has nothing to do with this. Animals are dying, and we are pointing fingers. The dolphin is critically endangered because of factories along the Yangtze river dumping waste into the water. These factories produce everyday items that we could be using. Everyone is at fault, the manufactures and the consumers.

I think it's funny when westerners complain about China creating extinction for these animals. Westerners have caused more animals to be extinct then anyone else! It's the problem with industrialization. Westerners NOW have a foothold on the economy and can NOW afford to accommodate animals. But that wasn't so in the old days. But no one was crying about then were they? China contains about 5% of the extinct animals in the world. The rest? Well you figure it out. It's not hard.
