A very nice recording by the great Somers band with a song from the Maurice Chevalier movie The Love Parade. Great singer, too. Is it Cyril Ramon Newton? I could not find a reference.

  • Tom Barratt is the vocalist on this one, unusually.

  • Rust & Forbes' discography lists Tom Barratt as the singer. Don't know if that's correct however.

  • The singer is Dan Donovan.

  • Herrlich!

  • The vocalist sounds a bit like Maurice Elwin. He recorded with The Rhythmic Eight in the late 1920s. May I compliment you on your recordings. They are beautifully presented and free of the processing artefacts and exaggerated equalization which many others use.

  • O M G!!!! This is just FANTASTIC! I have always LOVED this song.

  • I don't know who the singer is, but it doesn't sound much like C. R. Newton. Either way, it's a great record with a great band, which incidentally was one of the first British dance bands I heard!

  • Delighful! Somers at his peak! Thanks!
