Just great !
I loved the precision you played with !
Nevermind the place and the sound quality.
Or the performance place was a part of an idea ?

The performance was at a lake-side park in Toronto (forget the name) as part of a friend's DVD release event, where many people performed, in turn, in various idioms.... including theater, spoken poetry, electric and acoustic music. Not the ideal venue for the piece, for sure!

This is not easy, great job! I would maybe consider tuning up the drums in the middle or choosing higher sounds so that the center drums speak a little more. I know you're outside, so drums lose a lot of their tone quality, but I think that would improve the overall sound.
Also at the end you might consider playing all that with just your right hand on the bongo and left on bass drum. When you reach over to play a note that your left hand could have easily played it takes away from the space

I do agree with the tuning, and your comment about the sticking at the end... after seeing myself on video this is one thing i would change. Also the upstrokes I use on some of those isolated notes near the end (and very beginning) look strange upon review... I'd now play them as downstrokes, finishing with the mallets down close to the drumhead... that would also help the sense of space... thanks for a helpful and positive response!
