@GlaMouRJoNes89 In American culture romantic love is considered a factor of narscissistic personality disorder. The DSM4 defines it that way. This is for Americans who are acculturated. They don't love the way we do... First Nations Canadians are not like this. They select based on love and genuine marriage. Cross cultural marriages sometimes don't work in a patriarchal vs matriarchal society. We don't OWN women & children like dogs. We don't own men either if they stray we know it's over.

@AnneFox7 I would suggest to you that women of my culture often reject men on the basis of their sexual attraction or pursuit of other women. They don't compete the way they would for a job etc. They don't fight over men. Even if you really love a person if he doesn't love you back HE'S SCREENED. Maybe a friend.. not likely after he rejects romantic love. I'm First Nations Canadian. Married women are interested in getting past the pain of infidelity...until they can escape.

ARE YOU KIDDING? Men and women have to screen... Getting to know you is about being sure that the person is not just courting presenting a "what do you want to hear?" false front. There are as many women as men. Men are sexually aggressive because of HUMAN hormonal make-up. NOT IMPULSIVE!!! Women are tentative because of their HUMANITY. Women have children.. BIRTH CONTROL? 2% chance of pregnancy... MORE THAN sexual attraction must be the deciding influence for BOTH. Each creates GENUINE care.
