Back to Highpool to get our loot from fixing the Water Purifier with our newly acquired Engine (which we picked up at the Desert Nomads), we still have more to do.
Most importantly, we must decimate this small civilization of children for no good reason.
I won't deny it, I consider this part of the game to be quite fucked up, all you need is a little imagination and the realization that this entire segment involves murdering mutated children then finding their idol watching over the results of your massacre, saddened and enraged, only to find himself killed at your hands as well.

The fuck kind of Desert Rangers are these?
Anyhow, Red Ryder is the toughest enemy yet, not really a lot of health, but a good chance to dodge your low level characters' blows and he does a shitload of damage, easily pounding your party unconscious with only two shots. That's why I approached from an angle, if I had merely run at him it would've taken two turns to run straight to him since he would've initiated the encounter from two spaces away, at an angle it only takes one turn to get into melee range.

That's one disadvantage of picking melee characters, the raw power makes up for it though.
One of my characters falls unconscious in this battle but it's not a big deal, he soon recovers afterwards, the real danger is if your characters fall into a Critical state, eventually they become Comatose and eventually die permanently.

That's not really true. You can finish the game without killing one single child. You have absolute freedom of choice here.

  • Um, if you do it you're killing children, so it is absolutely true, ignore it or not, it exists.

  • Red Ryder is like the Western RPG equivalent of the JRPG "Metal Slimes".

Not much HP, but damn near impossible to get any hits on.

  • None of my characters have exceptional Luck either, which makes their hit chances lower. I was planning on toughing it out until I got Assault Rifles to save from putting points in stats I'll only be relying on at early points, but it's proving difficult.

Not giving up though, it just takes some patience.

Actually, I appreciate the comparative silence.

  • You are a shit gamer and a shit troll. Your voice makes me want to gouge out my eyes with a wooden spoon, and your 'humor' reminds me of the smell produced by the bacteria off a monkey's shit. Get out of your parents basement and get a job!

  • AHH MY GAAAWD YOU'RE GAY I CAN PLAY THIS BETTAR THAN YOU.

  • Whoa, that's quite... sad? 8 bit CRPGs can make grown men cry like mewling babes
