  • This scene scared me so bad when I saw it as a child. It still gives me the creeps!!!

  • good god!

  • This is one of the most impactful death scenes in horror film history. It's still disturbing over 40 years later.

  • The scne isnt scary because she just lays their. The film isnt that scary anymore... its justa b classic of cult cinema. Although i love it with a passion!

  • Just wanted to let everyone know that Gary Streiner, sound engineer from this film, is trying to save the chapel that's in the beginning of this movie from being torn down. Please join the "Living Dead Festival" group on facebook if you want to know more. Gary and Kyra Schon, who played lil' Karen Cooper in this scene here, are very active in the group and love talking to people. Both Gary and Kyra are just the sweetest people you could ever meet! SAVE THE CHAPEL!

  • @castingtherunes ...because the zombies ate it.

  • Wow, I am 14, a huge Romero fan, have seen that part 20 times and I still have nightmares from that.

That zombie girl is a bitch!

    Scary but good

  • LOLZ I read the description and though it said 'Towel'

    I was like WTF :D

  • Yep,hands down, the screaming sound effect is really disturbing.Kinda of like the echoing in the shining, with the screams of indians and a woman over the opening credits. This movie was also a great metaphor for the time. The country was in chaos, vietnam.young and old had never been more divided in our history, ben and tom vs cooper represent that. The lawman talking about ''body count'' kills, media foolishly believing and portraying a futile endeavor as winnable.Great ending, great energy great film

  • I wish people would pause a moment and actually realize why this was scary, especially in 1968. It's a low-budget film, so don't expect much. But you have this unfortunately reanimated girl who is stabbing her innocent mother to death. The scene's eeriness is enhanced by the mom's looped screams (something you might hear in a Ke$ha song, lmao).

It's praised simply because it's one of the most scariest movies of that time, and is respected today.
