The lyrics are Killer!!!

In the 60's you had to play multiple instruments at the same time to be good, in 10's you have to dance sexy and lip sing.
He is amazing!

Just incredible that one guy can produce all this music on his own-I don't even pretend to know how you can keep it all straight at the same time. Amazing.

I was lucky enough to see him touring with Sonny Terry & Brownie Maghee in UK in 1969(?). The audience was so enthusiastic after his first number that he seemed to mistake our pleasure for derision and walke off the stage. We had to call him back and he gave us a stunning 50minute set. I have to say I preferred him to the main act.

@stellerquest I don't believe "Lone Cat" was referring to his guitar, but to Jesse Fuller himself. He was both a one-man-band, hence the "Lone," and a jazz musician (blues is considered jazz). Jazz players were called "Cats" back then (it's slang). Hence the Lone Cat, Jesse Fuller

This is the anti-sadness. It's impossible to be in a bad mood when this song is playing.

I can't even get the kazoo part right.

His guitar is in the Smithsonian. I believe he was known as, "the Lone Wolf," not the lone cat, though. How does he do all that?!!

@stellerquest I saw him 1967 at the Fillmore in SF & the light show had his name up & he was announced as 'Lone Cat Jesse Fuller". Maybe Bill Graham was wrong, don’t think so.

got jesse to come to uva in charlottsville in 64/5 by sending him $35. a fine person who played in bars but was not allowed to drink or eat there (south). always smiling and ate sardines and soda crackers most meals. family man too and is sadly missed but his music lives on. dylan, grateful dead (monkey and the engineer) and many many of us just picking and blowin'.

@69frolic That's a great story, I was blessed with seeing him at the Fillmore in San Francisco in 1967. After he finished his gig, he did a tap dance, the man was truly amazing. He was the original 1 man band.
