Spiders are actually worse because they paralyse their prey before eating it. So you would be alive but couldn`t move whilst the spider sucked you dry.

At least spiders let their prey die first. Rather get eaten by a spider than a mantid any day. All my crickets die way faster in my tarantula tanks than my mantid's tank.

Spiders are more. My phoneutria doesn't show any pity to any living being that enters her terrarium. Once she held a cricket in her fangs for ten minutes and just than she started to eat it...
