Black Mountain Rag - Performed by Matt Baker

This is one of my favorite fingerstyle tunes that Chet recorded on one of his records using a nylon string guitar. I am playing a (carbon fiber) rainsong om1000 plugged into a Marshall AS50D combo. There's a XLR out in the back of this amp that I run straight (direct) into my recording software. Tone monster, huh. I hope you enjoy!

I am really struggling without the tab. To be fair, i would probably really struggle WITH the tab, but i need to try!!! Where can i find tab that vaguely resembles this?

@baldrick650 I don't know of any TAB for this tune. I learned by watching and listening to youtube clips. The hint I give you is that the tuning is an open G chord with a drop D on the low E string (D-G-D-G-B-D) Good Luck with your TAB search. It's probably out there somewhere.

Hey really great picking :P intense skills ahha, have you ever tried that amp with a loop? I find that when you loop with certain cheaper amps, the sound quality starts to diminish as you add more layers, so do you know if this amp works well with a looper?

@d0ngbak Thanks - tried looping pedals. They are cool for farting around in the bedroom, but they are a gimmick on stage. They make a cool little idea (maybe an intro or bridge section) but you can't keep up the interest for a whole song. Nothing beats a real live band on stage with you.

@ChillywillySeth Not sure if this version exists in TAB or in sheet music. If Chet didn't publish a transcription, then you might be out of luck. There are a few versions. check out the youtube clips. The tuning is D-G-D-G-B-D. Good Luck!

Did you learn to play it just by listening to the original song?

If you ever get bored someday it would be highly appreciated if you took the time to make the tabs for this song. I'm pretty sure i could play it, but i can't figure it out just by listening...
