I bought my $20 uke and a book of Irving Berlin songs about a month ago, but grad studenting has kept me from practicing as much as I ought. Silly vicious comments on my videos compelled me to make this one.

Here is Jessica Valenti of feministing brilliantly summing up and telling off youtube misogynists.

  • 1. I found that hat in a puddle at a rest stop last year. I was wearing it because my apartment was cold. 2. You make a lot of assumptions based on a video that's over two years old. 3. If you're so concerned with my supposed lack of participation in social justice movements [another assumption you make about me], why don't you stop yelling at people on youtube for not being unique enough and go find an inequitable institution to dismantle?

  • Looks like you just did, son.

  • Another great song by I. B. I think it comes from

a B'way show in the 20s. The original was a duet with 2 singers on the phone.

The soprano was Grace Moore who went on to

    sing at the Met.

Tx 4 posting. You play awful well for a beginner. How about another song now?

  • Hi! Thanks for introducing me to another Irving Berlin musical treasure! I never heard this song! You have a superb tnal quality, and clarity to your voice! Ignore that mental midgets comments about you,,, I think you're very cute, sing great, and if you just began to play that Uke, and you are able to find the proper chords like you obviously can,, you are also have excellent recall. You're sweet! Any girl that likes "always", and "all alone" is my babe! take care!

  • I wish I was a self-enthused priggish cunt...

  • What the fuck, I've been wasting my life living at an eco village. I need to get out of the garden and get on youtube, so I can start picking apart people's headwear/hairstyles. That's what the REAL activists do, after all...

It's what's ON your head, not what's IN your head that counts... I must remember this.

    Fucking douche.

  • 1. I love you

    2. hahaha oops

    3. I'm quite active in that faculty, I just don't make youtube videos about it (or my angst).

  • purposefully inflammatory comment, I love women and their potential. You, however, should still quit being a self-enthused priggish cunt. Toodles!

  • Your attempt at disenfranchizement only serves to further the divide between the people you'd do best in reaching (those ignorant of the real issues in gender disparity) and the assembly of nutjobs, weirdos and freaks who sit as a fringe society because they're not accepted otherwise. I imagine that was your problem growing up and in school, but that's just supposition. In any event, despite your narrow understanding of who I am on the anonymous internet and video replies to my

  • attire, then you're right back where you started -- not very unique at all. Overall you're trying too hard. Do something. Quit wasting time posting videos of you supposedly bucking the system by shaving your head and "dykonoclastically" refuting gender norms. The substitution of self-aggrandizing behavior, i.e. the above example of you shaving your dyed hair as a less significant analogue to real, progressive action concerning gender inequality misses the point.

  • It's funny. When people like you attempt to be different, for instance wearing that hat indoors with your thin-rim kitsch glasses and goofy outfit, the opposite occurs. You've put on a uniform identifying yourself as one of the neo-conformists, the NerdXCore group that thinks it's unique. See, if there's a categorical definition to your behavior, where anyone can point it out and say, "That person is Scene/Goth/Punk/Preppy/Emo" etc, and they all have an insulated standard dress or
