We found out early on that Bodie's favorite treat is dried papaya so we now save it specifically for training sessions. We cut it up into small pieces and use it in combination with verbal rewards.
Play dead was probably the easiest trick to teach him. Bodie naturally rolls on his back when he's playing around, so I started adding a verbal queue and I'd gently nudge him to roll on his back and then reward him. It didn't take long to catch on after that. :)
