Here, i want to explain something.
in phantom hourglass they start of with this ending (opening scene)
after that, they head to the ghost ship, apparantly where the winds took them.
read makothelifeguardian's top comment to continue the explanation.

@13ofus If you play Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, it can become rather suggestive that, in the end, Link DOES get Zelda/Tetra and both set sail to find a new territory and make it theirs. Link & Tetra become founders New Hyrule, which is where Spirit Tracks takes place.
