BROKEN

If, as a child, you were hidden away in the dark,

it is possible that the darkness has become a habit.

Like language, it is the only conversation you can comprehend.

For many, if we don't REALIZE that life is full of other possibilities,

...the DARK will always be our home.

It's where we feel the most welcome, comfortable, and secure.

In knowing this, do you suppose any individual can step out of the darkness,

(from one realization to the other) ...feeling the great sensations of having air in your lungs,

...strength in your body, ...and a smile in your heart?

Can the power of any one soul, who's spent their whole life in darkness, decide that one day,

...being alive is better than walking around in the long silence of death?

Can the will to live be so powerful,

...as to overcome the HABITUAL SENSATIONS of walking around in darkness?

Is it possible?


Medication alone CANNOT help you decide to live.
Medication alone CANNOT help you find the strength in your body.
Medication alone, CAN only help you breathe from time to time,
to help you feel a little more alive than when it began to rain.

Friends, too, aren't enough to bring you out of the darkness.

Friends, CANNOT DECIDE FOR YOU, that one day you'll step out of that darkness

and realize your exciting potential.

One cannot expect you to face the HOPE of one day

...without facing the tragic sense of fear all at once.

Days have become your enemy.

You would like for someone, ANYONE, to help you find the will to live;

but everyone around you is either dying on their own,

or they have become as worthless as a stone at the bottom of the ocean.

Are there no answers to this life?

Who, has the kind of power to tell you that your life is not working,

WHEN IT'S ALL YOU'VE EVER KNOWN?

Who, has the kind of power to PERSUADE you to follow THEIR lifestyle,

THEIR dreams, or to stand on THEIR own foundations?

...NO ONE!


One life is broken by disease.
One life is taken with despair.
One life is imposed with old age.
One life is consumed by drugs and/or alcohol.
...And one life is buried in the past.

Even when each and every one of us stand where you stand,

ON THE SAME PLATFORM OF DESPAIR,

in the same face of agony, does it help?

The answer is a resounding, no.

You tell us about the cries of death.

You tell us about the relief you hope to find on the other side,

and you struggle with the urge to lay down and never get up again.

And someday, you hope the struggle will end.


There is no single person who is perfect.

Nobody can substitute the air in your lungs.

Nobody can give you the power to live.

No single person can hold you above the ocean, if all you know how to do is sink.

I could bring you out for a time, but in time, you'd be sinking all over again.

Anyone could reach out to you again and again, but it's you who has to find the will to live.

Fuss, fight, scream and shout; could death be the only voice you hear?

Has the darkness won the battle for your life?


Regardless of how you frighten us, or leave us awake at night;

Regardless of what you put in your body to quiet the fears,

and Regardless of what you think the answer could be, at least do this;

Tell God You want to LIVE!

The ash on his cigarette was an inch long, beginning to lean.

It was a habit of his, letting the ash dangle.

I think he did it to induce feelings of suspense and anxiety in others.
