Here are some photos for the smart guy's at CobraWorxShopz and others out there. Whose signature is on this radio? http://s3.zetaboards.com/copythat/topic/7430611/1/#new It is discussed more. But its got scan, repeater shift, digital freq display, floating channel change, larger heatsink than the original, MRF477 final and has all the same sort of things as the Jentec Radios. Chip is from 1980 and is an AMD as you will see. So, CW, Ralf 121 and other smart radio men help me with this as need it repaired and so some sort of diagram is needed. VIDEO of it in HD will be made in the next days and posted here. In the meantime let me hear your views................

  • Hi, so maybe the mystery is solved? BIG RESPECT and thanks to Sigi for the information. Now need find if there is a manual existed on these to find what the variables are for. THANKS to all those that helped so far.

  • Hi Simon! I know that the modification comes from UK. The extension board was sold there in the late 90s. I have some other pitures here on my PC. I know a man who owend one. I'll look for the pics and send them per email.

  • @13EL121 Thanks Ralf you are so kind. Am trying to find what the variables are so it can be repaired correctly. Any assistance I thank you very much indeed

  • Simon. this AMD chip is 2732 EPROM, where the all dividers stored, for frequencies. MC14510 and CD4511 are part of the freq. counter.

I think You can ask here

    edaboard.com

At least on digital part (freq. counter and PLL).

  • @pabllosee Thanks for the tip, awesome :)

  • Dont bother asking Cobraworxshop about anything radio related as they made a total hash of a radio belonging to me..NEVER AGAIN>>

  • If you are still interested I can have a pretty good stab at telling you how this board works. Alternatively, just look at the circuit for the Belcom LS-102L because this uses a virtually identical circuit for PLL control via an optical encoder driving BCD counters and the LED display and the digital selection of the clarifier trimpots. I would strongly suggest that these Jentec boards were derived from the original Belcom circuit.

  • @vicmeuk What's really funny is someone who would want to convert a good quality 11 meter to also operate on 10 meters..

11 meter band is all but dead in most of the uk and the 10 meter band is never used except for dxing during skip conditions.

I have never seen a 11 meter radio modified to run on the 10 meter band as well as the 11 that worked as well as it did when it was just a 11 meter radio.

Only exception are radios made as 10m/11m sets that just need a jumper removing..
