Useful to download/view youtube-videos that are blocked in specific countries, or to cross the great firewall of China, or to conceal your identity and traffic movements, or to enable people that do not have uncensored internet access.

  • can u help me install and use it? please

  • @pcpik3r

Then you need to tell me which operating system you use.

But really, it should be easy, just go to the official tor website and just pick something. The tor browser, or the tor usb-key.

  • why when i use TOR i cant look at youtube videos because it thinks the adobe flash player is outdated PLEASE HELP ME MAN

  • @MrCohibaboy

TOR does not support flash, the reason is simple: TOR is about anonymity, but flash plugins reveal your identity, they reveal too much information about your computer. Use TOR and you are anonymous, use flash plugins and you cannot be anonymous.

But at least youtube lets you upload videos over TOR, without using flash. And, unfortunately i dont know how, but there are ways to download youtube videos over TOR.

  • If you lend your computer for use in the TOR network, would this not open your computer up to the same sniffing attacks and other attacks since your computer would essentially become part of this network? Am I misinformed here? Anyways, thanks for the interesting vid.

i think the only thing that can happen if you do both things at the same time, is that someone watching you on the other end decides to launch attacks on each of the 1500 servers one after another, and if your bandwith goes down exactly when they swamp one of the routers then they can assume that its you and confirm it by launching another bandwith-swamping attack and see if your connection goes slow again.

running an exit node is different, it requires bravery.

your computer would become part of a network that sends encrypted packets back and forth and decrypts layers of them. If you choose to become an internal router, not an exit node, you will only receive and send encrypted packets, and uncorrupted servers dont save any data. you only access the network over a client. maybe its true that you shouldnt run both on the same connection at the same time, theoretically there could be an attack exploiting the shared limit in bandwith.
