@Theparableof0 When swinging a shinai, there's a saying that goes "Left is for power, right is for guidance." My sensei continually teaches that 100% of the power from your swing should come from your left arm.
Ideally, one handed strikes aren't any less powerful, and because the majority of strikes from jodan stance are targeted to the men, accuracy isn't bad either (the weight of the shinai helps guide itself downwards)
Jodan stance isn't the most stable, but its attacks are fearsome.

普通の人なら、上段の面を打たれた後に相手の体が自分に突っ込んでくるところに後ろにスペースを作るなんて到底不可能です。内村選手がいかに常人離れした足さばきの持ち主でもある気がします。これを竹刀をコントロールしつつやるのですからね。まさに迎撃ミサイルですね。

the guy in white (shodai) was using the jodan no kamae... an offensive and difficult to master kamae (fight position)
