"Here again we recur to an earlier emphasis: elect unto obedience. The Gospel is to be obeyed. And to obey is better than sacrifice (I Samual 15:22)...
I Peter, not to mention other books of the Bible, has a wider notion of obedience than the common one. Obedience involves, not merely external conduct, like honesty, veracity, church attendance, and personal work, but it also involves internal, mental, intellectual action. It involves belief. In I Peter 2:7-8 the opposite of disobedience is belief, and those who refuse to believe are disobedient. In 4:17 the connection between obedience and accepting the Gospel is again indicated. Compare also 1:22 and 3:1. Belief and external action are of course closely related. Sincere belief produces action, and actions are an indication of a person's belief."

  • Amazing....

  • @ObeyTheGospelOrDie God bless you Dwayne!

  • You are right, We are not to pick and chose..... Read God's Word, Preach God's Word and Sing God's Word. What a Church we could have if we worried less on what other people think of us and more of what God as told US to do.

  • @youratm Amen Brother Tony! I love singing the Psalms to meter. God bless you!

  • So then what's the point of this video? Are you pointing out his teachings because you agree and you think that it should be mentioned once again or are you pointing it out because you don't agree?

  • @faithandpractice I agree with Clark. However, the reason for my new "according to Dr Gordon H Clark" series is to let Clark speak for himself in his own words.

  • I have this book sitting on the shelf. Along with many others. Since first reading Clark I understood that he was an advocate of personal Christian Holiness; without which no one will see the Lord.

Justification is by Grace alone, so is sanctification. But I think that we should not forget that true Christian conduct will by necessity line up the Biblical teachings of that very same subject (Which epistles such as 1 John are full of). For it is God who works in us. (Phil. 2:13,Eph2:10)

  • @GRANTEDREPENTANCE It is all recorded in the 15th chapter of the book of Acts. Paul went to Jerusalem to consult the Apostles and elders. The point of this video, however, is obeying the gospel. You should show it to your pal Kirk:) God bless you Rach!
