I read plenty of non-fiction and history. I try to understand things from different perspectives. Skousen's views on slavery were rankly offensive. The essay he quoted is disgusting.

I would post to pieces critical of Skousen, but youtube doesn't allow that. If you are interested, google Zaitchik and Skouse, with Salon or SPLC , or Wilentz and New Yorker and Skousen. They will give you of how far out Skousen's ideas are.

Thank you for the courtesy of your reply. Skousen was a conspiracy theorist, someone who believed that secret elites conspired to destroy America. This view is rejected by nearly all real historians and social scientists. Skousen's work is thus ignored by them.
I have read Skousen's major works on communism and capitalism, The Naked Capitalist and the Naked Communist, and they are poorly researched and full of logical holes.

HAHA! You don't know anything do you. The text book you are reffering is the Making of America and he wasn't calling them "pickaninies" he was simply stating that that's what the white people called the little black children in the time of slavery. Read the book before you make such statements. And Believe me, the Freeman Institute was not an illegal intelligence group. That makes me laugh that you think so. Where did you get the idea that it was?
