An easy starting toolkit is available now. It's more simple than the first tutorial suggested with different files to downloads and libraries to compile.

There are many variations of C languages.
1. This dev kit doesn't work under Vista because 22nice used to emulate cp/m is a 16bit program. You can use dosbox, but you will have to work without the gui front-end showed in this video.
2. The C language syntax appropriate for this Hi-Tech C compiler is less permissive than other compilers. Take a look at the samples before coding your own projects.
3. This kit suppose you respect a specific structure including sound table and nmi function.

It compiled the rom and played fine for me on vista using the cci file.

Probably get fixed after a few updates. but it certainly will not works under the 64-bit OS version.
