Coming soon from Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program and Vision Communications: Down the Bayou!
During Louisianas 2008 brown shrimp season, a two person documentary crew traveled the waters of the Barataria-Terrebonne Estuary with several shrimpers to participate in and document their ways of work and life. Down the Bayou presents a truthful cross section of a season in a unique livelihood through the language, dialect, food, music and tradition of a truly singular culture. Among other factors, coastal land loss has threatened Louisianas shrimping industry and way of life. The loss of either would prove disastrous not only to the people living here, but the nation as a whole and nature itself.
This is a Vision Communications Production by Andrew Elliott, presented by BTNEP.
Obama's backend BP oil deal destroyed the shrimping industry when the oil spill leaked 100 million barrels of crude oil into the Gulf. The film is outdated.
