I almost died when they performed during the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. King Of New York starts, I'm singing along like a pro, until the words COMPLETELY changed...NOT.COOL.

As much as people like originals, this broadway production is going to be way better than the movie. Jeremy Jordan sings with so much feeling and in tune while Christian Bale butchered a really amazing song. Also, a composer is entitled to change his work if he wants to. It is really annoying when "huge fans" complain about something which can be improved on.

I wish people would understand some things that work well on screen simply can't be pulled off on stage and vice versa. Obviously this musical is not going to be the exact word-for-word replica of the movie, but it still holds true to the basic story we all fell in love with as kids.

"they'' didn't change the lyrics, people. Alan Menken did. You know, the guy who wrote the original lyrics. Obviously, he felt like making some changes/improvements to his own work. Is he not entitled to do this? Calm down.

And when you write your own show and eventually decide to make some changes, which most people do, and other people complain, you will understand how annoying it is.

You guys are pretty good but...THE NEWSIES OF 1992 OWN YOU!! =P The original will forever be my favorite... if youtube takes the songs off for copywrite or something I'll SOAK EM! =P But really I would rather be stuck being a Newsie in 1899 then in our world today, and I'm a GIRL!! Even more, One that really likes her Internet and Movies!

This is Broadway people. They can sing and REALLY dance and they aren't going to keep the original lyrics if they are not top quality. I LOVE Newsies but even I can recognize some faults. I think both versions are great for their platfrom and medium.
