Rory's beautiful guitar tone, playing, and improvisation on this recording confirm his status as a great musician and guitar player who performed with thunderous passion.

Richard McCracken and John Wilson combine to provide a strong rhythmic section which allow Rory to reach peaks of guitar soloing seldom reached by other guitarists, past or present.

  • Some great jazz blues rock. Taste were one of the big four super power trios. Jimi Hendrix Experience; Cream; Taste and Beck Bogart & Appice.

  • @hardyharhar9 son house got hammered all the time (hammer ons go as far back as flamenco music)

  • a very original song. nothing like it. his scales were unconventional at the time and the way he attacked the strings. the studio version was mystifying when it first came out.

  • @hardyharhar9 : Didn't say he invented hammer ons ;)

  • @guitormentor Um Leadbelly hammered.Robert Johnsen hammered.Sonney Boy 1 hammered!

Alvin Lee and Jimi both a year before this at woodstock.I love Rory but he didn't invent hammerin!

  • Rory's doing hammer-ons & it's 1970! Ahead of his time, I'd say. I freakin love improv & this progressive feel is the sh..(tuff) I really dig. I'm a strange one myself! Good one!

  • saw Rory live in 1980s, but Taste were in a different league

  • I'll Always remember !!! Great gigs!!

    Thanks a million Rory !!!

  • Is it just me, or do I hear some Tommy Bolin in this piece?

I always said it's a shame these two never recorded together.

    Can you immagine the results!

  • The biggest sounding three piece ever. Innovative and daring and so kick-ass. Long live Rory both with Taste and solo.
