I just watched the movie, my favourite of Hughes's work, and though I love this bit I think maybe my favourite moment in the movie is right before this, when they drive between the two trucks. The timing and editing are perfect; look at how many shots go into the bit when they drive through the trucks; everytime it cuts to something else you laugh harder. The way the two trucks creep over the horizon is perfect too. Hilarious.
