I recently made the mistake of installing some Dynamat in an area I shouldn't have and had to remove it. Somone had told me it was difficult, if not impossible to remove the stuff. Well it isn't fun, but I was able to remove it from an aluminum panel and I suspect it would remove similarly well from sheet steel. Here's how I got the Dynamat off.
