This is the original trailer cut down to just show the gameplay. It runs through a block of gameplay then runs through it again at 1/2 speed to really see what's happening.

The first 2 clips are of gameplay reflected in the MK and DC logos and, therefor, had to be enhanced to make it fully visible.

The initial clip shows a strange attack by Sub Zero. It appears batman is on the ground and gets stomped. But, right before that, Sub Zero does a downward punch that finishes with Batman standing upright, but then Batman flips upside-down and plants himself head first on the ground. I imagine that clip was used in the opening part where it was barely visible because whatever the knockdown move is, it has to be unfinished.

The follow up has Sub Zero stomping on the back of Batman's head as Batman tried to get back up. Is that a comboed hit? Will Batman have a way to get out of the way of the stomp? Who knows.

The next clip shows Batman doing a right punch, and then a left mini-uppercut.

Then there is the long string of clips of gameplay. There are a lot of interesting things demonstrated here.

First we see Batman's right punch. The funny thing here is the punch connects, and blood appears, before Sub Zero begins to react. This is similar to Mortal Kombat 1 collisions.

Then we see Batman grabbing and throwing Sub Zero. He swings him around and throws him at an angle different from the plane of the fight. Could the throw allow you to control the angle at which you throw your opponent?

Sub Zero hits the ground but bounces up and recovers as he moves away.

Then we see a roundhouse kick from Sub Zero to Batman's face. A similar reaction to the punch. The hit connects and blood appears and then the opponent reacts.

Next we see Sub Zero grab Batman from behind and give a big ol' knee to the lower back. It appears Batman is already turned around when Sub Zero grabs him. He could have been knocked backwards by a hit like the roundhouse. Perhaps the "Klose Kombat" system is one where instead of popups (like uppercuts) and knock aways (like roundhouses) we have knock downs and turn-arounds, like we see in these clips.

After this it cuts to a clip where Sub Zero has already been hit. He is in stun frames that seem to be lasting longer than any of the stun frames from the zoomed in footage. There is blood in the air, and Batman gears up for a big hit, doing an uppercut that knocks Sub Zero through a wall on the level. Sub Zero is shown flying out of a wall and Batman follows him down.

On the way down we can see Batman punch Sub Zero as they fall. On this first punch there appears to be a glitch in the game since blood actually appears around the bottom of the screen, not near where Sub Zero is getting punched. Then there's a second punch by Batman and the blood appears correctly coming out of Sub Zero's face.

At this point the video cuts to a different clip, where they are still falling but Sub Zero is above Batman. An interesting detail here is there appears to be a tear in Batman's shirt. That must be some of those klose kombat damage effects Boon mentioned.

As they fall, now Sub Zero does a right punch against Batman. Then, Sub Zero goes for a left punch, the punch flies past Batman's head who then puts up his right arm. It looks like it's in defense but it happens after Sub Zero's punch has already happened.

At this point Batman grabs Sub Zero and flips things over so that Batman is on top. At the same time the camera switches to looking at the two of them from the other side.

Now, Batman gets two punches in as they fall.

Before they reach the ground Batman reorients himself to be standing directly on Sub Zero's crotch and they crash down into the ground leaving a crater. It appears the level they land in is the same level that we saw Batman knock Sub Zero off of earlier.

  • dc has no moves there taking uppercuts from freaking mk i hate dc

  • i think this game is dumb becuz im a big mk fan but mk with dc no ...mk will kick ass thats a total kill ... by the way dcs fatality sucks

  • OMG are you one of those online hard-asses? Go outside and talk to someone like that you pathetic lowlife weak piece of shit. Fuck off faggot.

  • Let me rephrase myself though, partially, there is no clear-cut evidence that the uppercut is to the head. Other than that, I stand behind what I said 100%

  • well, you nit-picking idiot. There is no clear-cut evidence that Batman's strike is an uppercut, for 1, no fist is seen striking Subzero's head in any way, and 2, would a uppercut to the chin send the person just horizontally backwards? And jesus, it's a fucking Mortal Kombat game, not real life. You might as well look at every little aspect of every past MK game and see if it's plausible, you stupid fuck.

  • fuck mortal kombat now, this game is not on ps2 and it looks like shit anyway

  • yeah

  • are they going to make a cinematic trailer anybody nows?? like in MK armeggedon it will be SICK¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • FUCKING RETARDED BASTARDS! No clue whatsoever about basic fighting physics which would still apply to super-humans. The uppercut, as it smacks Subby away, his head goes fucking DOWN! It's called an UPPERcut, Midway. UNDER THE CHIN which sends it UPWARDS.
