Trains that operate between Sicily and the Italian mainland are carried across the Strait of Messina on a ferry boat with a special deck that has rails to accommodate the train cars. In this video, the cars are being loaded on to the ferry boat.

  • Dos passenger allow to get out of the train?

  • @applesweeter Yes, passengers are permitted to get off the train while it was on the ferry. For example, this video was not filmed from on board the train that I was riding.

How long was the ferry ride? Did you take it from Reggio Di Calabria?

  • @psyche2083 This video is on the train from Palermo to Rome, so if my memory serves me correctly, the ferry went from Messina to Reggio di Calabria. I don't recall exactly how long the ride was, I might be able to figure it out from EXIF data on photos if you are really curious.
